Fresh off an outstanding 2008 season where the team won the Stars of Karting JICA National Championship, swept TaG at the Stars Finale, took home two victories at the SuperNationals, along with numerous other victories and podiums; the team is looking to kick off the 2009 season at the Florida Winter Tour.  The FWT has always been a great warm up for the Stars of Karting series and the team continues to grow and show their strength.

Top Kart and Kartel Motorsports have once again assembled a top-notch team for the upcoming season.  In the TaG Jr. category Tyler Thomas, Taylor Miinch, Alec Udell (Kart Nation), and Mason Chelootz will be returning to the team.  New to the team is Emilo Acosta Jr. who will be competing under Kart Nation.  Miinch will also be competing in the KF3 category.

Current Ekartingnews #1 diver in the Nation, Kyle Wiegand, will be the loan Team Top Kart USA driver in the TaG category at the first round.  Kyle will be looking to score a couple of wins with his Mike Manning powered Leopards, which propelled him to two-second place finishes at the Stars finale.  You can never count Kyle out at the end of the day.

The team is welcoming two new drivers in the Cadet category to the team.  Both Josh Saurino and Derek Sobel have joined the team for the 2009 season.  Sobel made an impressive debut with the team at opening round of the 2009 WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Championship where he came home with multiple podium finishes.  Look for both of these drivers to be at the front of the grid all weekend.

Also joining the team are Josh’s brothers Nigel and Hans who will be kicking off their season at the Stars of Karting opener in Ocala.  Until then they will be busy testing with Kartel motorsports to prepare for the season ahead.
